This collection
of short sermons is intended as a guide to a new, or not
so new, preacher. With over
50 years experience teaching and preaching, Author Peter
Coote hopes that some of his experience will help you as you
think about or move forward in the thrilling and important task
of preaching. He provides these 55 sermons only as suggestions,
and he encourages you to use them as a base for what you have to
say.
About the Author

Peter
Coote has been a Christian since 1936, but didn’t begin to
preach until 1982 after returning home from serving in WWII and
as an officer in the Indian Army. In 1946, he met and married
his wife and now has two children. While looking for a Sunday
School for his children, he started to attend a Methodist church
and then started teaching.
Once he
retired, Peter volunteered for training as a Lay Preacher at the
chapel in the new town where they had moved. Thus began his many
years of preaching on a circuit of 22 chapels. It is during this
time that he compiled this collection of sermons.
Peter chose to
give up preaching to stay home and care for his wife as she
battles Alzheimer’s disease. However, he hopes to continue his
ministry through this book as he helps others get started on the
road to Lay Preaching. |
