Every parent’s worst
nightmare is their child being hurt or abducted by a stranger.
Although this issue is a frightening one, parents need a way to
convey the importance of safety in terms of who to trust.
Willard’s book serves as a springboard for you and your child to
begin a discussion about the subject.
Enter a magical, twilight world of insects; Amy Firefly is a
sweet and innocent firefly who is asked by her friends, Cricket,
Ant and Ladybug, to share her vibrant light. Along the way, Amy
is approached by Toad, who asks for her help locating his pet.
But something is different about Toad, and Amy is unsure. Wise
Owl cautions Amy about trusting someone she doesn’t know. What
Amy learns is that everyone is not always a true friend and
there are ways by which to avoid those who may want to do her
harm.
Willard’s charming tale will help parents teach their children
about the danger of talking to strangers. In these difficult
times for keeping our children safe, Amy Firefly is a
breath of fresh air and will become an enduring, important part
of your child’s book collection.
