IVD
By Greg Przywara

Greg Przywara’s debut novel, IVD, involves murder, the mafia, and modern-day technology.

Trapped in a loveless marriage and stuck in a dead-end job as a clerk at a      Madison, Wisconsin supermarket, Mark Crizlanek wonders if life will ever get any better.  He wishes that it would hold more excitement, but day after day, his rut just seems to get deeper.  Be careful what you wish for is an old adage that Mark will experience in a big way.

When Mark goes to work one night, it begins as an ordinary shift.  Other than weather reports indicating a blizzard, Mark resigns himself to another night of running the register.  When an old friend, Trevor, shows up bragging about his exciting new job at Reel Speedy, an online movie service, Mark is envious and interested in learning more.  That is, until dead bodies start showing up—his boss and his lover.

Labeled as the prime suspect, Mark’s arrested and sentenced to 75 years in prison.  When Mark finds out that Reel Speedy is a guise for a terrorist operation run by the Capella family, all hell breaks loose.  The mafia springs Mark from prison, but not without a cost.  Mark is put in the unenviable position of cooperating with the mob, going back to prison, or dying.  Not great choices, and Mark finds himself on the run from both the good guys and the bad ones.  Is there a difference between the two and just who is involved in a terrorist operation that reaches territories way beyond his Midwestern home?

With breathless pacing and heart-pounding action, IVD has twists and turns that bring this electrifying novel to an explosive and dramatic ending.
