Over the
past ten years, Susie Scholz has written twenty-five stories
featuring a freckle-faced, redhead kid named Freddie. Each of
her stories addresses a specific life lesson in an entertaining,
non-threatening manner that both children and adults can enjoy.
In this
particular story,
Freddie is the new kid in
town and is very nervous about his first day at his new
elementary school. He is self-conscious about the color of his
hair and the size of his feet and is afraid of being made fun of
by all the other children. But, throughout the day, things begin
to turn around for Freddie and he realizes things may not be so
bad, after all!
