Lakisha Cornell’s oldest son was born on leap day and she is often asked when her family celebrates his birthday. When Cornell researched the subject, she found there weren’t many references that would be understandable to children. Born in Chester, Pennsylvania, and raised in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Cornell works in the retail industry and now lives with her family near Philadelphia.
