This
inspirational collection of true stories reveals the honesty and
innocence of childhood in a time of great crisis.
Sally was
a fun loving and independent four year old. She loved to draw
and color and dreamed of being a veterinarian when she grew up.
Overall, Sally lived the life of a normal little girl until a
month before her fifth birthday when her mother became very
sick.
Rhonda
Zweber was diagnosed with breast cancer on May 18, 2007. Rhonda
clearly and honestly explained the whole process to Sally rather
than try to hide this tragic information from her daughter.
Rhonda allowed Sally to ask questions and make comments about
her mother’s cancer and treatment.
As Rhonda
began recording her experience with breast cancer, she found
that her daughter’s questions and comments were an integral part
of the ordeal and began including them in her documentation.
Mommy’s Hats is the compilation Sally’s reactions to
Rhonda’s experience.
