Since she was 5 years old, visions have been a large part of Sidney Carlino’s life. Now 11, Sidney is able to see events unfold before they happen. Murder, ghosts and strange events are part of her daily life. But Sidney claims she never knows when she will receive a vision.  

Sidney was born and raised in the beautiful but mysterious city of New Orleans, once a pirate stronghold. Sidney lives with her mother and her grandmother, whom she calls Gamma. 

Gamma owns a shop named Mystic Magic on Royal Street in the French Quarter. The shop sells oils, herbs, spells and charms. Sidney and her best friends all love Gamma’s shop. 

When her friends discover an old riddle posed by the ghost of a sea captain, the children set out on a hunt to solve the puzzle and claim the pirate captain’s treasure. Will Sidney’s talents help find the prize or are they in for a spooky time?

Marcia Riley was raised in Louisiana and now lives in Illinois. Storytelling has always been an important part of her life. Riley has five children and six grandchildren. Her husband, Dave, is a contracting engineer and her best friend. She is now working on a sequel, Sidney and the Disappearing Treasure.
