Speaking With A Broken
Mirror is a
collection of introspective poems reflecting the images observed
in our daily surroundings, examining aspects of our environment
like jagged pieces of a broken mirror.
Author John Rolens reiterates
the things ignored or forgotten that connect us, and invites us
to feel the rhythm of a pervasive spirit.
This exceptional compilation
reveals an expressive theme of connectedness with tones of
pensive shadows and humorous light. Some of the poems were
previously published in a limited edition,
Misty- Poems from Email to
Diane.
About the Author

John
Rolens was raised in St. Louis, Missouri, the youngest child of
three in a blue collar family. After having served three years
in the Marine Corps, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from
Southeast Missouri State University with a double major –
Literature and Philosophy. Poetry reflects his experiences as a
member of a biracial family, surviving lymphoma and the
heartbreak of losing his wife to cancer. John currently resides
in the small community of Spanish Lake, about a 40 minute bike
ride from the confluence of the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers
