Visit the world of cowboys through the eyes of a young
bull, as title character Lil’ Bull learns some lessons about
life.
The first lesson that Frank
W. Graham has for his young readers is the cowboy code: You are
only as good as your word. A Texas cattle rancher, first-time
author Graham makes the West come alive in this tale about
growing up and taking responsibility.
Carefree and aloof to others,
Lil’ Bull receives guidance from his wise older brother, Big
Bull, who tells stories about friendship, love and respect. Soon
Lil’ Bull is making friends with all the other animals and
listening to their stories too. Putting human traits to the
animals he knows so well, the author says their actions are
funnier than if they were fictionalized.
Graham’s
inspiration for The Adventures of Lil’ Bull came five
years ago when he was working with his cattle. “I associate my
life with Lil' Bull,” he says. “I was once wild and carefree,
but age slowed me down too. In the storyline, he will age and
mature and perhaps sire some calves.
