The Madness of Avlon Klynn
By Richard Todd

“We should be in that wood over there and up a tree,” Bremin said. He was trying to stay calm, but it was hard for him. He took another bite of his food and he enjoyed it. Still he would not let it go, his friends were risking their lives, for what, Bremin thought. Do they know something that I don’t?

The others heard him, as did the five vampires that laid in waiting in the stillness of the night. Bremin watched the four drift off into slumber a few minutes later. He knew he was right, but what puzzled him was why his friends would want trouble at the early hours of the morning. Holding his bow ready for any kind of attack, he heard a branch break. It made him jump a little. He looked to his left, then to his right, gazing into the dark forest. Something moved near the forest. Adjusting his eyesight to see what it was, Bremin smiled; it was only a fox exploring the area for food.
