Principal Brian Witaker is
faced with some strange and funny challenges as he negotiates
the new school year. What do you do with a peeping Tom science
teacher? Or a pot-smoking head custodian? Or an art teacher who
wants to use nude models in class? Or an ex-Marine sergeant
who’s too gung-ho about teaching the school band how to march?
Besides humor, this
unpredictable story shows how a principal’s patience, compassion
and leadership can change lives. Witaker must deal with a new
dress code, student death and a homeless man who lives on school
property. Its touching ending will remind us why our high school
days were so important as a foundation to the rest of our lives.
