“A series
of surprises,” in the immortal words of Emerson, is how Kingsley
Reed Jeffery describes his writings, which have the tendency to
take you off the beaten path and into a Technicolor dream world.
But not only will you be surprised with his alternative take of
a mischievous little bunny, you will be howling out loud at his
cleverly written tale of droll humor and the insanely satirical
and good-natured characters of Peter and company.
Jeffery gives his
“neo-classical” version of everyone’s favorite ancient Roman
lagomorph, Peterus rabbittus. Complete with social
commentary on the Romans, (which the author deems essential to
the book’s structure) this children’s tale takes on a zany twist
as Peter, Boo Bear, and the slightly crazed Mr. MacGregor are
presented to you once again for the first time in original Latin
form.
