“A total accident” is how author RJ Rampling describes his newest book, The Wellsville Vampire. It was meant to be a love story taking place in a wonderful little town called Wellsville; however, one night, during a horrible storm, the title sheet to this book got wet. The title was in red ink and when he lifted it up, the letters dripped. “I knew right away that the story should be a vampire story and everything fell into place,” Rampling said. 

James Baldwin is on his swansong motorcycle ride in upstate New York; he’s dying. Happening upon a small hamlet called Wellsville, he muses at the name and decides to rest a while, but little does he know that he will never leave. 

James has a colorful past: an ex-Army ranger and one of the most lethal men on the planet. He’ll need those skills for, very soon, the most lethal creature of the underworld, a vampire, will challenge him. Attacked and bitten by this omnipotent demon, James slowly turns into a vampire himself. His certain demise now postponed, he gains ample time to tie up loose ends in his personal life, but not without a little thing like murder.  

Detective Diane Druckman comes onto the scene and, in between good meals, investigates recent homicides. And when all hell breaks loose, it seems there’s no way out…or is there?
