Take your
children on a ghost of a good time—Wanda the Witch at the
Happy Haunted House by children’s author Vonda Jessup is
certain to become a favorite bedtime read!
There’s a haunted
house in the neighborhood and Haidyn, Heather, Wes and Brian are
the friendly ghosts who live there. The ghosts are quite happy
in their home, but the city decides to tear down their house to
make room for a shopping mall.
After accepting
the fact that they can’t stay in their home, they begin the
search for a new one and discover a house that’s considered
haunted. Upon their visit, they meet Wanda the Witch. Wanda
loves having guests—her house is very happy and the friendly
children ghosts decide to stay.
Soon the group
discovers there’s more to the house than they thought—what is
living in the basement? What adventures await Wanda and her new
friends?
Vonda Jessup’s
illustrations are beautifully rendered (with the help of her
son, Kim) and inspire the imagination. Her characters are vivid
and children will adore Wanda and the friendly ghosts. Take
your children on a whimsical journey—this jewel of a book is a
timeless treasure!
