Poetry, as described by the
author, Dean
Davies, has to do with relationships “with others and with
myself.” After teaching for twenty years, he left to write
novels and poetry and because he got tired of hearing “Those who
can, do; those how can’t, teach.” He feels being an inspiring
teacher is “much, much, more difficult, and you have to know a
hell of a lot more.”
Speaking of relationships, he
is “out of patience with this ridiculous culture we live in. I
live alone, talk to my personal assistant, a few other vets, and
precious few friends. Otherwise, I am good natured, outgoing and
pleasant to be around.” “I have a daughter who is thirty and
very much her own woman. I love her more than life.”

Dean Davies lives in
Idaho Falls, Idaho. He is presently working on a second volume
of poetry, Spare Change: Poems for my Daughter as well as a
sequel to his novel The Anvil, entitled The Python Breaks.
