After an impressive career in teaching and education, R. S. Charles ran a small family hotel. The author's hotel experience was the seed that cultivated the necessary writing skills for this novel, Whispering Palms, and inspired the sultry setting. Are there elements of Charles' life and snippets of people the writer knows lurking in the characters of this work? That's up to you to surmise. Meanwhile, one thing is certain: a sequel is on its way. R. S. Charles once lived in France and Germany, but now resides in Plymouth, Devon, England.
